Fourth place finisher signs a record contract

Seventeen year old high schooler,  Allison Iraheta, “American Idol,” has signed a contract with 19 Recordings, the company affiliated with the top-rated reality show.

Iraheta joins Adam and Kris with this company.

Fuller said Iraheta is one of the best teenage singers the show has ever discovered. Her big songs included the jazz standard “Someone to Watch Over Me” and Heart’s “Alone.”

Iraheta, who lives in the Los Angeles suburb of Downey, has said that she aspired to compete on “American Idol” since she was 9 years-old.

Jive Records, which is owned by Sony Corp will releas Allison’s album.

There has been no announcement about recording plans for third-place finisher Danny Gokey.

Idol Runner-Up to “come out” in Rolling Stone.

“At this point, I think everybody knows everything, but once the Rolling Stone article comes out, people will know everything,” Adam Lambert told E last night at the Young Hollywood Awards.

Reportedly, Lambert will officially come out of the closet next week in a cover story for the music magazine…

He goes on to add

“I’m excited, I want people to know what’s up. It’s words coming out of my mouth!”

American Idol, Kris Allen winner gets his record deal

Since becoming Season 8’s winner and The American Idol, Kris’s single “No Boundaries” is  No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and he will be dropping his album in the fall.  Kris , who became the first married winner of American Idol in May, will be touring with the other top 10 “American Idol” 2009 Summer Tour  beginning in July.

“As exciting as the last few months have been, I’m really looking forward to what is next,” Allen said in a statement today. “I’m very grateful to be working with Simon Fuller and his team at 19 Entertainment, along with Barry Weiss and Jive Records on my debut album.”

“Everyone’s been asking me what it’s going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show — definitely in the pop/rock genre,” says Allen.
